Based near Bourne in South Lincolnshire, An Extra Pair of Hands started out in February 2018.
The goal has always been simple - to make peoples' lives easier. That could be busy working parents who have a never-ending to-do list, small business owners who just need help on a casual basis to get on top of their admin, or perhaps older people who have jobs at home that they can no longer do for themselves and don't want to be a burden on family and friends by continually begging favours...but this is not an exhaustive list of examples!

To date, my services that have been in highest demand are gardening, non-personal care and admin and marketing support for small businesses. I have also house-sat, looked after dogs and goats, done some decorating and helped my aunt prepare to move house - I love the variety!

A little bit about me
I'm originally from Shropshire and via a rather circuitous route ended up in Lincolnshire in 2011. I now live near Bourne in South Lincolnshire with my partner, a landscape gardener.
Prior to establishing An Extra Pair of Hands I was working in the marketing department for accountancy firm, Duncan & Toplis, where I had been for nearly 6 years. The time had come for a change; I wanted to do something for myself. The idea of ‘An Extra Pair of Hands’ had been lodged at the back of my mind for some time but I wasn’t sure whether I’d ever be brave enough to actually go it alone...here's the answer!
Before moving into admin and marketing positions I worked in the hotel industry for 6 years, latterly at the Hotel du Vin in Cambridge. Working in hotels teaches you a huge variety of skills and you become an expert at thinking on your feet and solving problems. These are great foundations for An Extra Pair of Hands where clients want someone they can rely on to get the job done with minimal fuss and a can-do attitude.
